When One Door Closes

When one door closes, another door opens but we often look so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open before us. Make it a rule of life never to regret and never to look back. Regret is an appalling waste of energy. You can't build on it, it's only for wallowing in. Life would be infinitly happier if we could only be born at the age of eighty and gradually approach eighteen. Look not mournfully into the past, it comes not back again. Wisely improve the present, it is thine. Go forth to meet the shadowy future without fear and with a manly heart. When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test courage and willingness to change. At such a moment there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or saying we are not ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny. (My Dad's final words of wisdom which he typed but never got to post me as he was killed on his pushbike at 80 years of age. Hope he is Resting Peacefully)
